• The Charity Mileage Deduction.

Well this year 2017 it is the same as last year and the year before. It is still $0.14 or we can say fourteen cents per mile.

These are miles driven in the service of a charitable organization that is a legal charity not something that you feel is charity.

    The actual miles

Are important to the IRS and they are not interested in your guesstimation.
It is still worth the effort as you can download a mileage log for free on this site.

When you are taking off for the trip write in your odometer reading and where you are leaving from and your destination.

When you arrive you would write in your mileage from the odometer. Parking costs are also deductible so keep those receipts. So, you can see that it is easy!

These are not very well paid for miles

Ah but when you add them up at the end of the year you will see that the money is worth having. You wouldn't throw away what the government gives you for a tax deduction now would you?

So if it is $50.00 or $500.00 it is worth writing it down when you drive the miles.
I am willing to bet that next year the mileage will be the same as this year for Charity.

What do you say? I say it will.
